Before the clutch disc is mounted on the car, be sure to check the amount of lateral oscillation of the driven plate.

Clutch plate
Clutch plate

In order for the clutch to work properly, the maximum lateral oscillation of the new clutch disc cannot exceed 0.5 mm. Because the clutch operation is a very delicate process, excessive deviations cause difficulties in shifting and even cause the clutch to fail.

Even though the clutch manufacturer will test every clutch clutch disc manufactured, only the tested products can be listed. However, in the process of packaging and transportation, the precision parts of the clutch may still be damaged due to improper operation. Therefore, the lateral displacement deviation test of the clutch disc should be performed before every installation.

If the measured amount of lateral oscillation is greater than 0.5 mm, the clutch plate must be calibrated with a calibration device.

Q: Does changing the clutch design reduce transport damage?

A: No, in order to ensure the basic function of the clutch and meet the quality requirements, it is very unlikely that the design of the clutch will be changed at this stage.

Q: Change the mode of transport and packaging?

A: Whether it is the use of a more stable transport method or the increase of packaging materials, it will increase the cost and cannot guarantee the absolute safety of the product during transportation.

Test is the best choice!

It takes only 3 minutes to test the amount of lateral oscillation, which is not a waste of time. This is the best choice to ensure the stable performance of the clutch driven disc.
