US Cooper Tire & Rubber Company announced that it plans to spend USD 35.5 million to build a Global Technology Center (GTC) in the United States for the development of new tire technology. The new technology center will be located in Findlay, Ohio, adjacent to the local North America Technology Center (NATC). The new center is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year. Chuck Yurkovich, vice president of global R&D for Cooper Tire, said the new global technology center will help the company and its global subsidiaries maintain their leading position in the tire industry. The new technology center will eventually recruit 40 scientists and engineers. The latest technology developed by the center will be provided to Cooper's technical centers in various regions of the world for the final stage of product development and industrialization. Just on the 13th of this month, Cooper Tire's new building of the Asia Pacific Technology Center in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, has just been launched.
