Norwegian Power Systems (NES) will supply electrical equipment to two newly built Havyard HD843 ICE icebreakers.
The two newly built Havyard HD843 ICE icebreakers will be built at the Havyard shipyard in Leervik, Norway. They are 10 ice class DNV ice class icebreakers and icebreakers with anti-freezing devices (-30o C), which means that this icebreaker can It is 1 meter thick and is equipped with an ice protection system. The order is worth NOK 35 million.
The electrical equipment provided by Norwegian Power Systems is a 450V 60Hz power system consisting of:
2 NEGR 630LA6 shaft drive generators with a speed of 1200 rpm and 3000kVA; 2 NEG 355 MB4 auxiliary generators with a speed of 1800 rpm and 750kVA; 4 sets of NEMJ 450LB6 with a speed of 1200 rpm and 1000kW Lateral thruster generator; 4 SD/2000 lateral thruster starters; 5 switchboards, including main switchboard, de-icing switchboard and emergency switchboard.
In addition, the contract includes all power calculations, engineering, commissioning and sea trials. The Norwegian Power Systems Company, which has just been established for five years, has supplied electrical equipment to 30 vessels around the world.
