Alcoa Announces Successful Acquisition of TransDigm Aviation Fasteners Business

On March 9, Alcoa announced that it has successfully completed the acquisition of TransDigm's aviation fastener business. The acquisition amounted to $240 million.

The acquisition will become part of Alcoa Fastening Systems. Vitaliy Rusakov, President of Alcoa Fastening Systems, said: "This acquisition will help improve the supply and design capabilities of Alcoa fastener systems and is an important step for Alcoa's strategy to accelerate the expansion of the global aerospace fastener market. ."

Alcoa also said that it expects the first year after the transaction will boost its earnings and cash flow growth.

The business includes TransDigm's three manufacturing plants in the states of California, the United States, Redditch, and Leicester, and about 400 employees. These three major factories mainly produce various high-strength, high-temperature nickel alloy special engine fasteners, fuselage bolts, and air gap bearings.
