Hand-held orders for non-seafarers from the Norwegian shipyard VARD are increasing.
 
         Recently, VARD received a new ship order from the Norwegian billionaire Kjell Inge Rokke subsidiary Rosallis Four-10, which will be responsible for the construction of a survey vessel (REV), the price has not been announced.
 
         The new vessel will be developed by VARD Design in collaboration with customer and designer Espen Oino. The hull is built by VARD Tulcea of ​​Romania and the armor is completed by VARD Brattvaag of Norway and is expected to be operational by 2020.
 
         According to VARD, this highly specialized REV is tailor-made for research and expeditions worldwide, with the aim of developing knowledge and sustainable solutions to the challenges of the marine environment; the shipowner has invited the world to nature. The Foundation Norway Branch (WWF Norway) is involved in the further development of this research adventure project.
 
         It is reported that the new captain is 182 meters long and will become the longest ship designed and built by VARD. The ship will be equipped with modern laboratories, auditoriums, remotely operated submersibles (ROVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), as well as a multi-purpose cargo deck that will accommodate 90 people.
 
         This project is part of the Kjell Inge Rokke philanthropy. Kjell Inge Rokke said: “This REV will be a platform for accumulating knowledge.
