Dissolved Oxygen Meters are instruments that can measure Dissolved Oxygen (DO) values. Dissolved oxygen meters are used in the following applications: papermaking - wastewater treatment; chemical oil refining - wastewater treatment; water plants and wastewater treatment plants - wastewater treatment; metallurgy and mining - production processes/wastewater treatment; pharmaceutical industry - biological reactions and fermentation/wastewater treatment; foods And Beverages - Production Processes/Wastewater Treatment; Power Plants - Water Treatment; Semiconductors - Production Processes/Wastewater Treatment.

Dissolved oxygen (DO) refers to the molecular oxygen dissolved in water expressed in milligrams of oxygen per liter of water. The solubility of oxygen in water depends on temperature, pressure and dissolved salts in water. The dissolved oxygen meter sensing part consists of a gold electrode (cathode) and a silver electrode (anode) and potassium chloride or potassium hydroxide electrolyte. Oxygen diffuses through the membrane into the electrolyte and the gold electrode and the silver electrode constitute a measurement loop. When a polarization voltage of 0.6 to 0.8 V is applied to the dissolved oxygen analyzer's dissolved oxygen electrode, oxygen diffuses through the membrane, the cathode releases electrons, and the anode accepts electrons, generating a current.
