Rainfall Sensors Common Faults (1) The tipping bucket is not placed properly, and the catchment funnel and the channel are blocked. The magnetic side of the dumper should be aligned with the circuit board. If the mounting direction is reversed, a fault will occur. The tip of the rain gauge dumper should be placed on the support point. Improper positioning will also cause measurement failure. The water inlet guard net on the hopper and the outlet hole of the water outlet, as well as the inside of the water, are often blocked. Small bugs, debris, and dirt shall be cleaned up to ensure the normal operation of the regional station rain gauge water collector.
(2) Judgment of rain sensor failure. The rain sensor circuit board has two empty solder joints on the back of the reed switch. Measure the 2 points with the universal meter buzzer. When the dump bucket moves up and down, the universal meter emits a beep and the frequency should be Beep corresponds. If there is no beep or the number of beeps does not equal to the number of flips, there may be a failure of the reed switch; if the reed failure is excluded, use the resistance value of the universal meter to determine whether the rain sensor 2 line is damaged (short-circuit test) .
(3) Electrical signal line connection failure. Normally, after the regional station rains a maintenance cleaning, the data line may not be connected as required. It may also be that the line connection is not in place, and the connection between the line and the main board is incorrect or the connection is not secure.
After a certain understanding of the related faults of the rainfall recorder, the formulation and implementation of maintenance measures are very key, so as to ensure the accuracy of the rainfall recorder observation. First of all, when the record is not normal, it is necessary to find the cause in time, eliminate the malfunction and ensure the normal operation of the instrument. Secondly, in the course of use, attention should be paid to guarding against collisions, protecting the rainfall recorder, keeping the body stable and the level of the instrument mouth. In particular, the mouth of the instrument must not be deformed. Every year, it can be detected with a horizontal ruler, and special safety measures should be taken for the instrument. Freeze the equipment and cover the water container with cold solid precipitation in winter.
