Taipei City Information Bureau

The city can also become a large IoT lab

In order to build Taipei as an IoT urban experiment site, Taipei City Information Office uses 12 LoRa wireless communication base stations to build a large outdoor IoT network. To date, more than 50 teams have applied to participate in this experiment. The IoT platform is expected to Six months on the line.

In early 2015, the Taipei City Information Office began planning to build Taipei as a city experimental site for IoT to speed up the smart city. Therefore, it has utilized 12 LoRa wireless communication base stations to build a communication area covering all of Taipei Large outdoor IoT network, and open the public to participate in this experiment. Taipei City Information Office has been testing the platform since January 2016 and has opened its applications from April to May this year. So far, more than 50 teams have applied for it. It is expected that 200 teams will be recruited to the outside world. After that, the newly approved IoT Team or developer, can use this experimental platform to develop various new applications for urban IoT. The original set of this platform for networking, will be on the line in the first half of this year, but because of the need for more testing time, it will be postponed to the second half of the line.

Taipei City Government

The entire city turned into an air pollution monitoring station

In March 2016, the Taipei City Government officially launched an urban air pollution monitoring program to monitor real-time monitoring of Taipei's environmental data using 300 air-condition air-conditioners distributed to private and government agencies, including Temperature, humidity, as well as the concentration of fine suspended particulates (PM2.5) contained in the air to be analyzed to improve the air quality in the city. Citizens can also surf the Net directly or view the real-time air quality status with the App to avoid access to high-air pollution sites and to tap into these new government-wide air quality data to tap new applications.

Dutch city

High-speed transport by car will start operation

In February 2016, the Dutch government announced that it will start providing unmanned public transport services in some cities this summer to reduce the accidents caused by the prolonged driving fatigue of bus drivers. Up to six people can ride in this bus, traveling at a top speed of 40 kilometers per hour and rely on machine vision to determine the best driving route, and because there is no steering wheel and pedal design, there is an additional notification mechanism, once When an emergency occurs, passengers can contact the control center directly to ensure the safety of passengers. The bus has been continuously measured on the road at the Wageningen University campus in the Netherlands. After the passenger embarks in the future, passengers can use the App to book seats and check their boarding routes while hitchhiking.
