The reporter learned from the Science and Technology Department of Yunnan Province on the 23rd that the province has developed the largest column flotation beneficiation technology in China and successfully applied it. The technological breakthrough conventional phosphate mining methods to improve the development and utilization of phosphate resources, has far-reaching significance to the support pillar of phosphorus chemical industry in sustainable development.

The proven reserves of phosphate rock in Yunnan Province rank first in the country, but the long-term mining method of “taking rich and abandoning poverty” has led to a large waste of phosphate resources in Yunnan Province, and 92% of medium and low grade phosphate mines have not been comprehensively utilized. In order to solve this key problem affecting sustainable development, the Science and Technology Department of Yunnan Province supported the Yunnan Yuntianhua Group to conduct research on the development of new technology for low-grade colloidal phosphate column flotation.

Since the project was established, Yuntianhua Group has built a professional laboratory for column flotation, and has built a column-type flotation expansion continuous test device and a column flotation test amplifying device. The built-in column flotation test amplifying device can be flexible. Equipped with and combined various technological processes, the technical level is at the advanced level in the world.

The project carried out a pilot study on the flotation column of siliceous and silicate colloidal phosphate mines, through the concentration of grinding, dosage, dosing location, flotation operation concentration, pH value, liquid level, aeration amount, water washing amount, etc. In the aspect of the experiment, the research results of the column flotation process control parameters and the pharmaceutical system were obtained, which laid the foundation for larger-scale experiments and industrial application.

At the same time, the project completed the comparison study of the selection of column flotation reagents, and selected YP2T-1, YP2T-3, JVC150 and other agents suitable for flotation column flotation, among which YP2T-3 and JVC150 were in the tonnage flotation column. The test has been successful. The raw ore with P2O5 content of 23.35% and MgO content of 5.48% was treated by a coarse two-column flotation process. The P2O5 content of the phosphate concentrate was 30.84%, the MgO content was only 0.6%, and the P2O5 recovery rate reached 88.59. %, the yield reached 66.91%, and the MgO removal rate reached 92.88%.

The project research results strongly support the application of column flotation of phosphate rock beneficiation technology, the technology is relatively trough flotation technology, simplifying the processing plant processes, reducing the footprint, reducing the number of flotation devices, reduce engineering investment, The equipment operation management cost has been reduced, and obvious economic benefits have been generated. The development and utilization level of phosphate rock resources has been improved, which has far-reaching significance for supporting the sustainable development of the pillar industry of Yunnan Phosphorus Chemical Industry.

According to relevant persons from the Science and Technology Department of Yunnan Province, the project “Floating new technology for low-grade colloidal phosphate rock column” is the first application of new technology of column flotation in the separation of phosphate rock ore, and it is also the largest flotation column application project in China.
