2 gas deaths in gas explosion in downtown Guixi caused by natural gas leak

A gas explosion occurred in the downtown area of ​​Guixi City, China’s copper industry center, causing one person to die on the spot and another three injured. On the 30th, a reporter from the China New Network learned that due to his injuries, one of the wounded, Yang Fulin, died after being rescued. At this point, the accident has caused 2 deaths and 2 injuries.

On the morning of the 30th, the reporter contacted Li Xizhong, minister of the Propaganda Department of Guixi Municipal Party Committee, by phone. Li Zhonghua confirmed to the reporter that there was an explosion caused by the leakage of flammable gas in the early morning of the 27th.

Guixi Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department vice-president Yangzong issued a press release that the cause of the explosion was initially identified. According to the manuscript, at 3:36 am on August 27th, an explosion took place in the store adjacent to the Jianshe Avenue Education Bureau of Guixi City and the genuine air source store, causing a fire.

After receiving the alarm, Guixi Fire squadron quickly dispatched two water tank fire trucks. A high-emission fire engine was rushed to the scene to start rescue operations, and the fire was completely extinguished after 40 minutes. One person died, three were injured and some buildings were damaged on the spot. At 3:00 a.m. on the 29th, a wounded man died after being rescued and the other two were transferred to hospital for treatment.

The report said that after the accident, Yingtan City and Guixi City immediately set up a working group to investigate the cause of the accident, clean up the affected site, measure the loss of property, and comfort the casualties and their families. At present, the cause of the explosion has been initially determined to be the natural gas leakage below the right side of the natural gas pipeline at Jianshe Avenue K2 +80, spreading to the “neighboring right farmhouse dish” and the formation of an explosive mixture gas within the genuine air source store.
